I'm a new screenwriter, but I'm a practiced author and poet. I got into the craft by entering the George R. R. Martin Screenplay contest in 2020. I took one of my book ideas, wrote a 5 page Treatment and 5 pages of script and sent it in with my brother and writing partner. We really had no idea what we were doing. Out of 70 entries, we got 3rd place. So my writing partner and I finished the script, which was for a TV series we envisioned. I've written the second episode and will be working on the rest. I'm very interested in getting into the local TV industry here in New Mexico. I'm still writing books, I'm always writing poems, I'm always creating something. I want to channel that.
