My pseudonym is Arthur Charpentier. It should be read in French. Translated into Russian, the surname Charpentier reflects the surname of my grandmother, who helped and cared for me all my life.
I did not want to borrow the name of a famous director, the ambiguity appeared quite by accident. At that time I liked French music. Of the two translation options, I chose Charpentier, especially since there is a French writer with that surname. And I thought, well, I'll take this pseudonym for myself.
I live in the Russian outback. Before starting to write, worked at a chemical plant, at a military plant, at a construction plant.
About 12 years ago, I wanted to write a book. But I didn’t know what to write about, so nothing happened. About 6 years ago, I began to study drama on my own, tried to break into the Russian film business and also failed. Now I'm interested in cinema only as a viewing.
I like to write in the fantastic genre. Right now I'm working on a cyberpunk story. After 12 years, I know what to write a book about, but there is so little motivation left. I hope I can write it.
I like this site because there are a lot of smart, talented and caring people here. There is also a lot of useful information and advice here. I like that this site does not discuss politics. But if this is important to someone, I do not support Putin and they will not be able to take me to the war for health reasons.
I wish you all good luck and success!

Hi Arthur Charpentier! Thank you for sharing. I hope, if nothing else, that you can find motivation from this community so that you don't feel so defeated. We have a TON of great resources here on the site, including an upcoming lab on scifi writing (which would probably fit your cyberpunk story if you wanted to turn it into a tv series)

A cyberpunk story sounds interesting, Arthur Charpentier. "Total Recall" (1990) is probably my favorite cyberpunk movie. Do you like writing books or scripts more?

Emily J, thank you very much. Unfortunately, I do not know English, I need information that I can translate by an online translator. For this reason, I can't watch webinars.
You are right, the community on this site motivates me a lot and I am grateful for the help of all of you. I have already come up several new ideas, wrote one synopsis for an old project, corrected a dozen loglines and came up with a plot move that moved the cyberpunk project that I am currently working on.

Maurice Vaughan, I agree, Total Recall, Robocop, Terminator are great movies.
When I tried to write a book, found that I like to describe the actions of the characters more than their feelings, emotions and experiences. That is why I turned my attention to the screenwriting craft and began to study drama and psychology on my own.
I can't say that I don't like writing books. In the past, I didn't know what to write about, so I didn't like everything I wrote. Now, I have projects that I am ready to work on in any form.

I liked "RoboCop" and "Terminator" growing up, Arthur Charpentier. There was a RoboCop vs. Terminator video game.
I like to describe the actions of characters more than their feelings, emotions, and experiences too. Sometimes I need to describe their feelings, emotions, and experiences, but I don't go overboard.

J. Jordan Smith, Hello! I am very glad to meet you. Oh, my brain stops working in the summer, so I didn't write anything. I'm waiting for autumn. :)
