I got my first paid writing gig at 43, so it does happen...but doesn't mean I started at 42...means I wrote my first script at some 20-21...so if ure late starter, better lead the healthy life :)

This is an inspiring post. Thanks, Samuel. My mom published her first book at 86 years old (to very positive reviews). Never stop and always believe!

Age is a construct, period. A few people close to me made me realize that.

Those of us who are 50+ have much deeper, more nuanced stories to tell based on life experience. When I took screenwriting courses in college, I had nothing to say and didn't really understand people. Now, I've got a deep understanding of what drives people (and characters) to do what they do. I'm also at an age where it's been easier to make connections with people, so my network has grown tremendously. I'm gonna keep plowing through and hope I can make something of my writing in whatever time I have left.
