Hi! New member here - feel-good romance author from Scotland

Hi, I'm Julie Shackman, a feel-good romance author from Scotland, published with the HarperCollins imprint One More Chapter.

Great to be here!

I have put up details about myself and my books on my profile, if anybody would like to take a look.

My dream, like many authors, is to have one of my books adapted for TV/film.

Please say hi!

Ashley Renee Smith

Welcome to the Stage 32 community, Julie! We're so excited to have you here!

Are you working on anything new that you're excited about?

Also, I love that your favorite superhero is Deadpool. Fantastic choice!

Julie Georgina Shackman

Hi Ashley. Thank you! Yes, I’m currently editing in conjunction with my agent, my seventh feel-good romance for HarperCollins, The Bookshop by the Loch, which is out Spring 2024.

Ashley Renee Smith

Julie Georgina Shackman, I love that title! Is it a stand-alone novel or part of a larger series?

Julie Georgina Shackman

All my titles so far are standalone, Ashley Renee Smith but they come under the Scottish Escapes umbrella

Julie Georgina Shackman

Thank you David Abrookin - so am I!

Thank you D.E. White

Nathan Woodward

Hi there Julie, welcome to Stage 32. Seriously though, I've always wanted to go to Scotland. Most of my ancestry is there. One day I'll make it I suppose :-)

Frank Hauser

Welcome Julie! The more the merrier!

Julie Georgina Shackman

You would love it Nathan Woodward - rainy, but spectacular! Thank you!

Julie Georgina Shackman

Thank you Frank!

Dustin Richardson

Hi Julie Georgina Shackman! Congrats on being published with the HarperCollins imprint One More Chapter! You're on your way to getting a TV/film made!

Stephanie Munch

Hi Julie welcome ! Have you ever thought of adapting your books yourself? (I have and I must admit I fell in love with screenwriting)

Julie Georgina Shackman

Oh Dustin, that would be wonderful! I really hope so!

Julie Georgina Shackman

Hi Stephanie, I have to admit that the thought of adapting my own books , scares the hell out of me! I'm definitely an author and not a screenwriter - I really, really admire screenwriters - it is such an impressive skill, but I think it's an artform you are born with!

Dustin Richardson

Julie Georgina Shackman Being published with a big name like HarperCollins behind you has got to count for something! That's such a huge step. I'm still working on getting my own work published.

Julie Georgina Shackman

Thanks Dustin - so competitive though. My agent is based in Oz and she has been pitching my titles to TV/film production companies for a few weeks now. Keep reading that because of what is going on around the world right now, people want escapism, so here's hoping - and you keep going and don't give up! It only takes one person to say Yes.

Maurice Vaughan

That's a great attitude to have, Julie Georgina Shackman. :D

Dustin Richardson

Thanks Julie Georgina Shackman. I appreciate it. :)
