Hey everybody!
My name is Adriana J. Laplanche. I also go by AJ. I was born and raised in South Florida, I’m half Jamaican, half Haitian — and I’m the self titled “Worldbuilder, Worlddestroyer”!
I’ve always had a vested interest in storytelling since I was very small with big glasses. I wanted to write stories for the invisible people of the world — even the kids like me, the quiet daughter of an overworked immigrant in the busiest corner of the world. I was (and still am) a big fan of comic books, graphic novels, YA books, and eventually TV! I got my degree in Film/Video/New Media from Florida Atlantic University in 2020 with a minor in Business Administration and a research thesis in Comic Book Adaptation & Psychology.
My brand is Bloodthirsty Underdogs and I tend to write 1hr scripted pilots in Horror/Fantasy/Supernatural. I’m a big fan of genre blending, slowburn stories, and unique, complex, if not deeply disturbing, character development!
I’m currently circulating my 1hr horror pilot BAD VS. EVIL, based off the real terrifying accounts of the troubled teen industry — some of you may have heard about it in Paris Hilton’s Documentary about her time in the Provo Canyon School! I’m hoping to highlight the very real horrors of what this school complex does to the “bad” youth of America while also showcasing how fear is weaponized through some more…fictional elements. If you’re interested in learning more — comment below.
Otherwise, I’m looking forward to being a part of this community and have a great day.

It's so nice to meet you Adriana Laplanche! Welcome to the Stage 32 community!
You should definitely check out the Screenwriting Lounge where you can join discussions with other writers, pose questions that you may have, provide advice or insights, and share news/announcements that interest you. It's a great way to connect with other creators from all around the world!
I'm also a huge comic book and fantasy/horror/supernatural genre fan across all media and content spaces. Especially when they're built out into larger storytelling universes that seamlessly transition across media forms. As such, I suggest you also check out the Transmedia Lounge here at Stage 32!
You can find both lounges through the toolbar at the top of your browser window. Simply click on "Lounge", which will direct you to a new page listing all of the current lounges available to you. Then select "Screenwriting" or "OTT & Transmedia". I hope to see you over there!
Also, when you get settled, shoot an email to our development team at success@stage32.com and let them know about your screenplays and overall goals. They can help point you in the right direction regarding all the resources we have on the platform.

Amanda Toney Pleasure to meet you, Amanda! Thank you — I was inspired by the brave survivors of the very real Troubled Teen Industry. With stories coming out from the likes of Paris Hilton in her 2020 documentary, to anonymous accounts by survivors on Reddit, the story all but hopped out my brain and onto the page. I mainly just want to give their story a platform — they deserve to be seen.
Hey, Adriana Laplanche. It's nice to meet you. I also write Horror. Mainly Contained Horror. Great title for a pilot. Actually, I think I know you from Twitter because I've seen the poster for BAD VS. EVIL before. I even remember commenting about it.

Cool, Adriana Laplanche. The Pitch Sessions helped me get my pitches and scripts in shape. I got some requests from producers and production companies after rewriting my pitches and scripts.
