Hi everyone! I'm glad to see Introduce Yourself weekend come around again. I'm primarily a novelist with more than 60 novels published, mostly from the Big 5 (HarperCollins, PRH, Simon & Schuster, etc.) but also from some smaller specialty presses. I write thrillers, horror, westerns, superheroes, etc. I've also had almost 200 comics/graphic novels published, along with dozens of short stories and miscellaneous other projects. I've been entertainment-adjacent for years. When I was VP of Marketing at WildStorm Productions/Image Comics I worked on the CBS-TV animated series WILDC.A.T.S (and wrote the tie-in comics) and the animated feature GEN13 (released internationally by Paramount, domestic rights purchased but never released by Disney). At DC Comics I ran the STAR TREK line and various movie tie-in comics. As editor-in-chief at IDW Publishing I worked on 30 DAYS OF NIGHT and many other titles. One of my earlier thrillers was optioned by Mace Neufeld, and one of my recent novels, the historical epic BLOOD AND GOLD: THE LEGEND OF JOAQUIN MURRIETA (written with Emmy-winning writer producer Peter Murrieta) was optioned pre-publication by Blumhouse, and adapted for audio by Realm, performed by the great RICHARD CABRAL. My career has been a constant stream of content production in multiple genres, and I'd love to connect with a literary manager who could help me put it in front of the right decision-makers. Thanks to Stage 32 for this showcase!

Hi Jeffrey J. Mariotte! Nice to meet you on here! That is all so impressive! HarperCollins, PRH, Simon & Schuster, etc? That's a dream! Congratulations! I love that you've worked with DC and IDW too. Super cool.
I'm a writer as well with a novel I've been trying to get literary managers interested in for some time. I've gotten a lot of great personal rejections, some saying I've got something good here, just need to find the right people for it. I have screenplays and tv pilots as well.
Would love to connect on here, and I hope you find the right person for you latest project.

Wow how do you find the time and inspiration to be able to write 60 novels? That is amazing. Also I love thrillers like you can never expect why is next I love the unpredictability and unexpected turn of events.

Alexandra Shields Helen Giron Inspiration often comes from having bills show up in the mailbox that have to be paid. I've been writing professionally since 1988, and in my younger days 4 or 5 novels a year was no problem. I did have day jobs through all that time except for one 6-year span (and still do), so writing is mostly weekends and evenings. It's a matter of being organized, having a solid outline (for me--YMMV) so I know where I'm going, and putting my butt in the chair.

He Jeffrey, good to meet you. I am an author with compared to you a mere eleven published books. I recently started to try and write scripts and look forward to learning more on how to get it right.

Hi Colin! I wrote scripts in college, where I majored in Radio/TV/Film, but since then my only scripts have been for comics and graphic novels. Similar process, but not exactly the same.

Jeffrey J. MariotteNice to meet you Jeffrey! I write fantasy and steampunk space opera. Grew up reading comics (still do) and my first published piece was a graphic novel that was a modern day take on Dante’s Inferno. Recently found my first love is writing screenplays. My loglines are on my page. Also grew up on Trek!

Good to meet you, too, Leonardo! I've always been impressed with Kenjutsu. I'm a collector of European and American swords and was a fencer in high school and college, where my coach was also the coach of the US Women's Olympic fencing team. Another of my professors was a Kenjutsu black belt, and his demonstrations of it (not what he was teaching us, but just for fun) were amazing.

Jeffrey J. Mariotte That's awesome. And yes, it is fun. My daughter is still involved. I wouldn't mind using it in an acting gig at some point.
