Advice about balancing acting and life stuff

Hi everyone!

My name is Matt, I am a performer/drama coach. I will try and condense this situation, as it is very long-winded. So here it goes, Over the last three years, I think, I had a lot of personal issues going on, ranging from, going through a house fire in 2020 while going through the first wave of the pandemic, police investigation, caring for a parent, having to go back to education in order to top off my current degree, experienced losing a parent while finishing off my degree and now still caring for said parent, while doing 101 things mixing with looking for work.

On the positive side, I will be starting a short business course, to hopefully get an idea on its feet to facilitate/teach a type of workshop, which I feel would benefit not only the people that I have catered this idea but all individuals in every community, as I was encouraged to start this idea, as it is greatly needed, and not many people have started this supposed idea, so I am going at it 'hammer and tong'. I start this course in a couple of weeks and I am very excited about it. However, I am not looking for solid advice, just to relate and to talk, as I am sure we have all experienced something, being a performer, while looking for work and with other things as well,

Thank you for your time and listen to my ramblings.

Great to meet you, Matthew Roze. Sorry you went through those hardships. You have a lot on your plate. Hope you can get some rest in between them and hope your business idea takes off!

Welcome to the Stage 32 community, Matthew Roze! I'm sorry that you've had to deal with so much lately. It's hard to balance difficult life moments with creative pursuits, but we're so excited to have you here!

The best way to meet people and connect here on Stage 32, is just to put yourself out there by posting, commenting, and networking with people from all over the world. The most effective networking comes from building genuine relationships over time. A great way to start is by checking out the Acting Lounge where you can join discussions with other performers, pose questions that you may have, provide advice or insights, and share news/announcements that interest you.

You can find the lounge through the toolbar at the top of your browser window. Simply click on "Lounge", which will direct you to a new page listing all of the current lounges available to you. Then select "Acting". I hope to see you over there!
