It's been a while since I've introduced myself, so here it goes.
I am Debbie Elicksen, a publicist, writer, speaker and journalist who spent most of my adult life living in a locker room. I gumshoed my way into becoming a paid professional writer and publisher. Was told women couldn’t work in sports, so I spent 20+ years in the National Hockey League as a freelance reporter, 20 years in Canadian football, was public relations director for a California Angels farm team, was the first woman to headman a football conference in Canada, and was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame with my 1989 and 2000 championship football teams.
I was the go-to-person to get a book published and worked on over 150 books for self-published authors and traditional publishers (I only work on my own books now), wrote and published 18 books of my own. I’ve been a pioneer in the livestream interview format, a speaker, and am the current producer and host of the Locker Room for Growth show – and a moderator here at Stage 32 and a fledgling screenwriter.
My profile page has all the links to my social media and websites. Oh, and I’m now on Threads. I do one-minute TikTok movie/series reviews, which I also share on YouTube.

Hi Debbie, so GREAT to chat here. Thank you for your post. IT IS IMPRESSIVE, and speaks volumes to your dedication and perseverance to your craft(s). Truly inspiring. It's terrific seeing you accomplish so much in the sports world. I'm biased towards your successes because I'm an Angels fan. Sounding off on pie choices, I must go with banana cream, yum!

Oh my goodness, yes -- banana cream pie. Oh and as a Canadian, I must slap my hands in forgetting Saskatoon berry pie. It probably trumps all the rest. Although, if it's round, does cheesecake classify as pie? Saskatoon berry cheesecake, jam, ... Anyway, you only live once, eat the pie. Oh, pizza's a pie, too. (evil smile meme)

You're right, Debbie Elicksen. We're gonna need a lot of desserts since it's about to be football season and the MLB playoffs start in the fall. The bar is gonna be packed with fans! Are American football and baseball big in Canada?

Maurice Vaughan Please. I have TWO TVs for NFL season so I can watch two games at the same time, or watch football and a hockey game at the same time. Super Bowl parties are as big as Christmas. Grey Cup used to be, but CFL has done a piss poor job in marketing the game, even though it's epic. I mean, every game comes down to the last play. It's hard to get a first down in two tries instead of three. We have We the North...you've heard of the Toronto Blue Jays? Also Montreal Expos are now the Washington Nationals.
Yes, Saskatoon berry pie or jam -- not always easy to find outside of Saskatchewan, but man is it good.

Maurice Vaughan As a Falcons fan, it doesn't really matter. Sigh. And the braintrust of the NHL have already determined who they wish to win the Stanley Cup and so they will ensure officiating goes according to plan. Otherwise the final SHOULD have been Oilers and Bruins this last season.
