Beginner in screenwriting

Hello everyone, i am just beginning on how to learn screenwriting. I catch myself with having movie ideas in my head with whatever I'm doing daily. I dont know how or where to begin with me not having any experience. I was hoping that maybe someone could help me out and lead me in the right direction. if so, it would be most appreciated so much. thank you!

Great to connect Rodney Mendez and thanks for sharing where you're at. I recommend taking some screenwriting education on Stage 32 to help you out. Here's an upcoming lab that I think is perfect for you:

Welcome to the community, Rodney Mendez. Here's a great blog for up-and-coming screenwriters: www.stage32.com/blog/the-questions-up-and-coming-screenwriters-need-to-ask-3242

I suggest adding a bio to your profile. It'll help you build relationships/network on here. You could add things to your bio like your goals, what genres you want to write, what movies and shows you like, etc.

The very first thing I would do is to make use of your notes function on your phone to record the ideas as you get them. Nothing sucks more than having an idea and forgetting to get it down somewhere. (my best ideas come when I am driving and before phones, I had to write them on napkins and pizza plates - still have them!!!).

When a good idea pops into your head it’s good to write it down as soon as possible so you don’t forget it. It may be something that comes in handy for a character or plot line later.

this year read 100-200 produced screenplays from newbies to pros. Reading will help you write screenplays, so whenever you run into a story problem, your brain will remember how writer X did this on the page similar to your idea. Good writers borrow, great writers steal.
