If you were at AFM and got to see our Developing, Pitching and Making Television panel featuring Richard Botto, Leila Cohan, Kate Gill, Nathan Varni and Vijal Patel, you know that these fine folks brought all the knowledge. If anyone has questions about how to make television, drop them in the comments and we'll do our best to answer!

Hi, Amanda Toney. I wasn't at the AFM, but I have a question about TV. Did the panel talk about the future of TV?

Hey Maurice Vaughan, we didn't get into the future of TV, we focused on how to develop, pitch and how it's physically handled with production at the streamers and networks. But, I'd love a forward-thinking panel about TV hopefully for next year!

Ok, thank you, Amanda Toney. I think that'll be a great panel for next year. To see where TV is headed, especially now that the strikes are over.

HI Maurice Vaughan I think the future of tv looks strong (there's always going to be content made), I firmly believe 2024 and into 2025 looks to be just a greatly reduced number of scripted series being ordered. Over the past 4 years, my company (ABC) is doing about 60% less scripted than we had in the 19-20 season. However, if you look over at CBS, they seem to still have a robust number of scripted series, so I think it will just depend on network/platform and their scripted budgets which are coming off a tough year with companies failing to impress Wall Street. It's one of the hardest things about this business ... we all love the creative but even I have to be often reminded at the end of the day (even though it involves art/creative), it's still very much a corporate business that answers to Wall Street.
