Should You TRIM Your !st 3 Pages Down to 2?

Sharing a preview of my free course: Discover the pitfalls that make readers drop your script and learn how to hook them from the start with my Story Waves lessons, detailed in my SUBSTACK articles.

Maurice Vaughan

"Hook the reader" is on my mind when I outline, write, and rewrite the first few pages, Kelly E. Keough. And all the pages in my scripts. Looking forward to the article.

Leonardo Ramirez

Maurice Vaughn and Leonardo Ramirez, thank you so much for your support and insightful feedback. do either of you write daily? If so, how much time? I’m looking to jumpstart a rewrite project want to get over my procrastination… I need to join a class or run my own class to show up, deadlines work for me.

Leonardo Ramirez

Hey Kelly E. Keough. You are very welcome. I wish I could say I write daily but having a day job, my scheduled changes from moment to moment. Totally understand working from deadlines.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Kelly E. Keough. I try to write most days. Sometimes it's a few paragraphs, a page, five pages, etc. Sometimes I'll do a long writing session where I write 12+ pages.

Are you a member of Stage 32's Writers Room (www.stage32.com/writers-room/plans-vip)? If so, there are Writers' Cafes throughout the week. The Cafes are like writing groups/accountability groups.

Kelly E. Keough

Hi Leonardo Ramirez and Maurice Vaughan thank you so much for sharing your writing practice. Working and juggling writing is a challenge for me. At the moment. I read one where you write 15 minutes a day, and I accomplished that today. And Maurice Vaughan, thanks for the reminder of the Writers Café!

Leonardo Ramirez

Hey Kelly E. Keough - just got your course in my inbox today. Will definitely watch it. As far as writing practices go, I really think that everyone is different. There are times where I have dry spells and others where I can't stop or it hits me all of a sudden and I need to put it on paper right away. Having said that, I'm thinking about the story ALL the time and to me...that counts. Congrats on writing for those 15 mins. But I wouldn't feel bad when you don't.

Kelly E. Keough

Hi Leondardo Ramirez, I agree with you – the creative process is as unique as the individual. I love that you're always thinking about your story; that reminds me to do the same. Every moment counts towards the bigger picture. And thanks for picking up my course! Watch out for the CUT and CRAFT videos, too.

Leonardo Ramirez

Copy that Kelly. Will do. Ooh and I love that image!!
