I had breakfast this morning with a very successful writer and showrunner - we had been connected by a friend and happened to be in the same zip code today. At one point he said, "you know, there's only 2 people in the industry. Writers and readers. Producers (me) read, actors read, executives and agents and crew and production all read. Money reads. Only writers write. It is the fuel that makes the car go." It is true. Your work as writers is what the entire business is stacked on. Know that. And please keep writing.
