Tubi outperformed Disney+, Peacock, and Max last month

Tubi topped Disney for viewers in May, indicating (again) that "people still like watching TV in traditional modes" -- the last part of which is a pretty blatant misreading of the trend. I think what people like about Tubi is simply that it's free, has a quality library, including a lot of deep cuts into every genre, and you're not getting price gouged every other month. The consumer exchange with Tubi is very honest and straightforward. That's what people (including myself) like about it so much. I watched the Arrested Development documentary on Tubi last night.

I saw that earlier today in the trades, Pat Alexander. Pretty wild!

Pat Alexander

some interesting tidbits:

"an average of one million viewers."

“YouTube is the only free ad-supported streaming platform with more viewers than Tubi.”

"Tubi’s audience (median age 39) is the the youngest in television.”

Richard "RB" Botto

Tubi's rise, especially in this environment, has been staggering and landscape altering. Thanks for sharing, Pat.

I was surprised when I saw the news, Pat Alexander, but I shouldn't have been. Like you said, Tubi is free, it has a quality library, including a lot of deep cuts into every genre, and we don't get price gouged every other month. I also like that Tubi has a lot of indie movies.

Good point, M LaVoie

M LaVoie i agree and i feel like whatever program they use to determine ad breaks works really well and you're not getting cut off in the middle of a key scene or sequence like i've had happen on hulu, amazon, or netflix. personally i prefer the peacock method of getting the ads out up front and not disrupting the flow of a movie or episode. but alas not everyone can have as much common sense as NBC

Ashley Renee Smith

I agree, Pat Alexander! It feels like the ads fall at more natural points. Whereas other platforms are so awkward and disruptive with them.

YouTube outperformed them all, combined.
