About Pat

Pat A. is a black belt screenwriter, voracious cinephile, and visual culture guru. Originally from Louisiana, Pat likes writing about ambitious characters escaping the small town way of life to follow big dreams.

An MFA Screenwriting graduate of the Dodge College of Film & Media Arts at Chapman University, Pat has worked in the entertainment industry for the last ten years. Previous stops include Subconscious Films, Zero Gravity Management, and Film Rites, where he worked with Steve Zaillian developing projects for 21st Century Fox.

Pat began his career in broadcast production with Comcast Sports Network Houston, where he covered games for the Rockets, Astros, and Dynamo. Pat later cut his teeth behind the camera as a videographer for the University of Arizona football team and Pac-12 Network. His highlights were once featured on ESPN in the "SportsCenter Top 10".

Pat has worked prior iterations of the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival and Newport Beach Film Festival. He was also previously a reader for the Bluecat and Austin Film Festival screenwriting competitions. Pat's own short films have screened at local LA festivals such as Hollyshorts and Dances with Film.

Pat is currently the Contest Coordinator at Stage 32.

His favorite film is Hard to Be a God (2013) directed by Aleksei German. Let Pat know if you've seen it and recommend your own favorites!
