How many screenwriters here have a website? If you do have a website, has it helped you with marketing your screenplays? Have you opened up a free website like WIX or do you have one you pay a monthly stipend? I'm thinking maybe by having a website it will help me with my screenplays to be out there than only here on Stage 32. It will probably help me with trust from production companies to see I'm trustable. What do you say about this?

I've been thinking about making a website for my scripts, Claude Gagne. Looking forward to hearing people's experiences with their websites.

Claude, I've got a site of my own...https://jimthescreenwriter.wordpress.com.
Haven't gotten any sales from it yet...but it's enabled people to check out Prewrite versions of the stuff I've written (and ScriptHop Packets I've put together, too).
I figured: "It doesn't hurt to get more eyeballs on these scripts of mine..."
You've got my blessing if you DO go ahead and start your own Website.
Here's to tremendous success in your screenwriting/TV writing career!

@Claude I’m in process of constructing one but it’s taking a while cos I need technical help EG SEO, plug ins & coding. Websites can be an excellent show case for our creativity and to build followers via newsletters, blogs, social network, links to self published works etc. It’s mid range price Wix not free cos I want more options & own domain. Go ahead & think it out carefully. It’s our own unique footprint to be left in the ether for eternity.

Yes, it works well for me. I believe I'm one of the first people who come up on Google when people search screenwriter. Here's my screenwriter website.

Thanks, Jim, Debbie, and CJ. I'm thinking about it! There are so many things to think about as a screenwriter. I'm thinking whether I'll have time to go on and do the work to keep it updated. Like Debbie says, another cost in the pocket to have your own domain and options. Maybe, I should concentrate on getting a manager. Managers where are you? I need help getting my work out there.

I don't know that a website will help you market a screenplay.

I'm interested to know how a screenplay could be marketed with a website, especially when a pitch is based on a individual project and is almost never about a full body of work unless you're at a certain caliber. That's something that's new to me but I definitely can see the merit in it.

A writer could put their posters and scripts on a website, Brandy Camille, like Jim Boston and CJ Walley did. Also script pages and pitch deck pages. And maybe even character bios and info about the scripts.

To me, a web site helps promotion by offering a pitch deck link. However you are promoting, offer a pitch deck link as well. For the executives who are allergic to reading, pitch decks are a welcome alternative.

I have a website, https://www.ocetacea.net/pjamesnorris/, which I built myself--one of my side gigs is web design. If you want to, we could discuss my building a website for you.

If you’re trying to write for money, you should have a website to act as your calling card, with samples and contact information. Keep it simple. Don’t be cute, be professional.

Everyone that added a comment here; has anyone been successful with their website? Or, has it been another added inconvenience?
