July Filmmakers Club Week 1: Setting goals

Hello again fellow creatives!

It's been a while since I've jumped in head first to my creative projects - this challenge is exactly what I need to move the needle this month.

Goals for July:

- polish 10 more pages of my feature

- overhaul my short that was a quarterfinalist in several competitions but never went further

- get feedback on both pieces / give more feedback to others

Excited to see everyone's progress!

Maurice Vaughan

Great to hear you're jumping back into your creative projects, Rachel Troche. Congratulations on your short being a quarterfinalist in several competitions! I'm cheering for you to reach your goals!

Jaye Viner

I love the idea of a small goal of just ten pages. To really dive deep and focus on how they're working.

Maurice Vaughan thank you!!

Rachel Troche

Thanks Jaye Viner - it's been super helpful to get granular with my scenes and biting it off in chunks has made it less intimidating overall

You're welcome, Rachel Troche.

Leonardo Ramirez

Hey Rachel Troche - congrats on the quarterfinalist! Very cool! I think it's great that you're making a winner of a script even better. A lot of people stop at their last victory. Good for you!

Inspired by your willingness to 'overhaul' a script that may have felt stuck. I'm in the same boat with a pilot that was 'trying to be too much' - I'm starting to accept time as a pretty helpful writing assistant :)
