Is spamming acceptable at Stage32? I ask because I accepted a network request. Then I was asked to become a beta tester for the new screenwriting software Pzaz.
No thanks. Since I have already created 22 hours with television programs, the spammer ought to have realized that I don't need Pzaz. I am already able to do what I need to do. And I can see multiple problems.
1. Pzaz has everything in the cloud. Like many others, I write in a room where nothing disturbs me. No internet connection. Rarely do I have my phone with me.
2. I don't live in any English speaking country. Like many others, I live in a country with its own variant of the Latin alphabet, which for some computer programs gives problem. For example for the Trelby screenwriting freeware. Since the spammer couldn't spell my name correctly, I suspect her program fails to work with diacritical letters like åäö. And for those who don't use the Latin alphabet in their screenwriting, the problem is even bigger. No, I found no FAQ, so I couldn't check.
3. It is often necessary to send screenplays to a coauthor. But the problem is then for the coauthor to import the screenplay. Compatibility problems between different screenwriting programs are common. Pzaz differs so much from other screenwriting software that I suspect problems.
4. One screenshot was such that I suspect that the program suffers from a very common problem. How to have a large amount of information visible on the screen at the same time. So while the program helps to organize information, the cost for that is that the computer screen is crowded. Big problem for those who write on their ipad on the commuter train.
5. The company is not believable. On their web site, they are already selling the program. So it is strange that they want beta testers now, when it is too late. Neither could I find any information on their web site about in what country the company is located.
6. There is no user community for posting comments about the program. So it seems that the company doesn't want outsiders to learn what the program is like to use.
7. The spammer is not believable. She appears to have no background in the film industry. Neither as a screenwriter nor as doing anything else. She doesn't even tell in what country she is located.
In summary, if Pzaz want their product to be taken seriously, they should encourage film schools to use it, so the students can tell how much they like it. Instead of spamming people.
At least, the company ought to have posted an ad rather than spamming.

Sure, tomorrow, when I use that computer where I have my email client.
Just want to ad that I reported the spammer an hour ago.
When it comes to companies developing new software for screenwriting, or anything else related to filmmaking. My attitude is that most of what one needs has already been invented. But at the same time it is a problem that different persons use different programs. Gives problems when one sends files from one filmworker to another. So those who want to create new software should consider how well they can minimiz this problem. And they should also consider what they can do to ensure that other people find them believable.
No, I started to upload videos many years ago, when Youtube had a 10 minute limit. So I chose Vimeo instead. I have had "99,9 %" of my audience through public acces television stations.
Please notice that almost everything is in my native language. And when it comes to the latest projects, I suffered from disasters which were such that I could not use actors in the usual way, so the odd look is unintentional. I have suffered from about as many disasters as others who create no-budget films.

When I joined Vimeo, we users were given numbers rather than names, so I had no idea that they have later changed this. I clicked on the link and came straight to my profile.

Our intention was never to spam or offend anyone but rather to reach out to professionals in the industry who might find our new software, Pzaz, useful. We are not trying to sell you anything.
We understand and respect your concerns and assure you that we follow the CAN-SPAM Act and strive to maintain transparency and honesty in all our communications. We sent only one message and did not intend to impose or misrepresent ourselves.
Once again, we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Best regards,

Ninia, you have posted about Pzaz 5 times earlier. Only once did somebody answer.
My advice to you is the following.
Create a contest, and advertise it. To participate one must use Pzaz (at least use the free version).
Show that your company has thought about practical problems. Like people using different alphabets. People who use your software can transfer documents to and from those who use other software. And so on. Just check the user forum for the software developed by your competitors to find out what people want.

Hi, Göran Johansson. I checked Ninia Berishvili's profile. All of her posts about Pzaz are in the Your Stage Lounge. It's ok for her to post about Pzaz repeatedly in the Your Stage Lounge since that's the Lounge for promotion.
