Lab coming soon! Create Your Feature Film Investor Pitch Deck

Stage 32 is excited to welcome Sara Elizabeth back for her upcoming lab.

In this exclusive Stage 32 6-part pitching lab, you will learn everything you need to know to make a pitch deck that stands out, gets your investors excited, and ultimately leads to financing for your project. Over 6 interactive sessions, you will build your own investor pitch deck under the guidance of an industry expert to help you nail the copy, content, and design to create a deck that wows. You will also review several different decks that have been used with great success and explore what to include and the secrets to decks that convert.

Teaching you everything you need to know to make your pitch deck that attracts financing is veteran producer Sara Elizabeth Timmins. Sara Elizabeth previously helped produce the Emmy-nominated HBO hit MCMILLIONS for Mark Wahlberg’s company and has worked with actors like Jane Seymour, Ellen Burstyn, Chris Cooper, Josh Lucas, and Mackenzie Foy. Her films have been seen in theaters, HBO, The Hallmark Channel, Starz, Showtime, and internationally. Sara Elizabeth has personally raised over $15 million for her projects and will show you how you can do the same for your current and future projects. While it can be SO hard to find good examples because they contain proprietary info, Sara Elizabeth will take you "behind the scenes" in a one-on-one session for a SNEAK PEEK at decks that have attracted over $15M in film funding! You will gain insight so you can craft your own with knowledge, understanding, and confidence.

You will walk away from this 6-part lab with your completed pitch deck for your project that has been vetted by Sara Elizabeth, so you can go out and start raising money! You will get to see examples, which will make all the difference in understanding where to start and what you need – giving you the confidence you are on the right track.

can we use this chat to chat to each other?

I am excited to hear everyone's projects. Did you know they wanted Rocky but not Stallone to be in it. He insisted he play Rocky. they offered him 400k to be free of him in it. He said no, but for him to be in it. They paid him something sad like 40k or something like that. For him, the rest is history. He's still fighting them to this day to get a better deal.

Dan, yes we encourage you guys chat here :) Hope the first session went well everyone!

Natalie Diorio I didn't mean for the first film but control of the franchise in general, a bigger piece for his family to collect in the future. As far as the assignment, in my case, I'm doing a basic deck whose only goal is to sell the film with minimal if any mention of financials since my intended target is a studio or investor who would purchase it entirely as opposed to shopping it to see which investors want to come aboard.

The info we need to have in Word format is all of the text that we have for now that will go into our Pitch Deck minus any photos or artwork. That way we can copy and paste pieces of it into the page designs we make and learn about font choices, color choices, text box shapes and size, etc.

For me, having the following in one place in a Word dock is what I am focusing on.

You can do more but I think this info would be bare minimum.

BASIC DECK (7-10 PAGES)

• COVER

• LOGLINE

• WHY

• TALENT

• TEAM

• COMPARABLES

• CLOSE

During the class I wanted so badly to let Sara know that my film opens and some of it takes place in IPSWICH, MA so how cool is that that she is living there. Also I am very interested in her Mary Warren story and I was hoping to tell her I think it would be great for Hepsibah (however you spell that) to be an important character in her piece because the entire witch mania really seems to have sprung from the way she cooked Haitian food or whatever which became "Voodoo" which became "evil", etc. I like everyone's stories and I am looking forward to seeing the decks when they are developed.

I am an ai artist and made over 25000 creations. When I need images for films including actors, even putting that actor in character for my film it takes me 5 seconds so I never worry about the visuals for a Pitch deck. Example, I want Paul Bettany to play a 55 year old company VP in Boston in 1990. A False Ally who rises to become the Main Antagonist. Making the visuals is so much fun. If anyone else needs any kind of image for their deck I'll be able to help with that.

She didn't want us to be doing a pitch deck yet and hasn't even recommended choices for where and how to make one, she only wants us to gather the text we have so far in one place, my text is in Wordpad at the moment, everything from text on the cover page to story synopsis to Talent, etc. This copy will just be all in one place so we can cut and paste it into a new Pitch Deck that we will be given new instruction for building, soon. I think she said don't bother with pictures yet just put all the text we have in one place and fill out the Heart page as it keeps the emphasis on the script hitting the heartstrings as opposed to just being entertaining.

Daniel Goudreau

I have pictures too but I won't have them in the one page with all the text. My situation is unusual in that my script is not yet written, I am solving its structure at the same time as the pitch deck but have yet to write the script. I work a full time job making it difficult to spend enough time on my scripts so I am hoping the added pressure helps propel me to get it all done.
