A couple of weeks ago, I took advantage of the opportunity to schedule a Career Consulting call with Chris Sablan - talent manager and producer with Avenue 220. What I liked about Chris is he spent some time right up front asking about me. Turns out we both lived in adjoining communities in the Bay Area, although not at the same time.
I had sent him log lines to the four scripts I've completed, as well as a description of my background and where I was at with my screenwriting career. We spent a good deal of time going through the log lines and the scripts. He was very forthcoming about which ones he thought were marketable and what I would need to do to the ones that either weren't yet or could be with some other approaches. Turns out my horror script - Hellbound Train - was what he thought had the best chance, but with some work. He offered to read it once I'd done another revision. Working on it now!
I'd say the money spent was worth it!
