I made my first feature 35 years ago. I ran an organization of filmmakers for 20 years. I ran a sales and marketing company that sold films around the world for 11 years. What I do today is much more important. I am a Producer/Writer with an international studio, without borders or walls, and we specialize in a whole new type of movie that actually offers possible solutions to the problems that we face in the world today. I want to go to the theater, not to just forget about my problems, I want to be uplifted, inspired, and made to believe anything is possible.
What kind of films do you want to make and watch?

Hi Evelyn, I am presently working on a movie that will offer a possible solution to the homeless crisis. We will be beta testing the solution while making the film.

Happy holidays and a Happy New Year Eugene. I love your YIW :) I wrote a female-driven romance/drama with a fantasy twist about a soul-mated love journey. I want to inspire audiences and give hope through a love story, but also to bring awareness to human rights and consent. Now, I am doing pitch sessions and having meetings to find the perfect team to champion my script. It’s a journey :)) It’s interesting that your new project will be a beta solution for the homeless crisis, because if my script evolves into a film and goes well, I want to implement the Protagonist project “Talk about consent” with NGOs. Dreams come true!

Hello Eugene Mandelcorn. I like to write mostly stories to inspire us all, set in past simpler, happier times. But we can learn so much from the past, if we choose too. Best compliments of the Season to you and your family.

Nice to meet you Eugene - given your previous history in film sales and now moving into international production, how would you say you've noticed the industry has shifted the most? I'm sure you've seen a lot in your career. As for movies I like to make.... the ones that actually get done without any setbacks lol, and the ones I like to watch are the ones that make me think long after I'm done watching them. Intrigued to have you in the community and look forward to your contributions here.

I realize that the studios and major production companies are in a state of flux right now. Having gone through a pandemic and numerous strikes they are more careful than ever. They have been sticking with known stars and tested materials; remakes, sequels and of course IPs with a built in following. This is not always working for them, as audiences are looking for different types of productions to pull them, away from their homes and, into the theaters.
Angel Studios proved this with some recent films they have marketed and now we are seeing a rebirth of the spec script bidding wars, reminiscent of the '90's.
What I believe is upon us is a golden age for low budget independent films. We are going to see some of the most original and thought-provoking films in the history of this still young, and blossoming art form.

Hey Eugene Mandelcorn nice to meet you.
That's great, film sales is really important and unfortunately not enough of us filmmakers know a lot about it. Which is a shame since if our films don't get sold we can't make more of them.
That's great that you're involved in something great like that, because it's hard trying to get your material out there, especially for people who not from the industry hubs.
As for the films that I make and write. I started by writing something I was interested in a thriller, then wrote a couple of comedies loosely based on true stories and are simple enough to shoot. But this year I got challenged by a friend to wrote a sci fi film that I'd like to make that actually deals with a lot of the contemporary society issues but projected into a fictional future. I've been mainly working the last year to try and get this film somewhere.

Hi Eugene Mandelcorn!
This is a story about how an insecure guy, living with a cat, learns by her example to understand and communicate with women.
PUSSYCATA young programmer who does not know how to communicate with women, in order to cope with depression after the death of his mother, will have to learn how to communicate with women with the help of one creature, which has a tail, large whiskers and sharp claws.

After the whole of Pussy Riot escapes Russia, they have to deal with the big Dogs, the US. Dogs that don't know Pussy Riot did not escape, but were send by Putin to spy on America; get high American officials killed end send key intelligence back to Russia -- or get their families killed.
It's a "chick flick" about FEMALE EMPOWERMENT, but can also be
A TV Series. Runs untill all Anerican officials are dead... killed by Pussy Riot. Just kidding!! Ok, I'm done sucking my big tumb. (PS: all royalties to me!!
Woof, woof, miau, woof woof.. miau!!

We will be shooting a film in 2025 in Texas in the same vein as PUSSYCAT, but more of a mixture of Cyrano and Electric Dreams. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

real life can be much more interesting than fictional stories.

Arthur, please just say Rutger! On your statement. Yes, that is why it isn,'t a bad idea to let the stories reflect real life in some sort of way.

I don't write the text in English, I copy it from an online translator, sometimes all at once, and sometimes in paragraphs.I also write from my phone, so I often use the clipboard in my browser to copy names. It's easier for me to copy the name of the person I'm talking to into a message once than to write or copy it into an online translator.

Get it, Arthur! About your Russian screenplay, are you thinking of translating them into English? Like ,"Safe Place". So we can read them.

Bravo Eugene Mandelcorn ! Congratulations on your ongoing success. On the mirror side of your commitment, I want to write books and films not to make people forget about their problems, but to uplift, inspire, and suggest anything is possible!I can't wait to watch LEE'D THE WAY. It looks wonderful..
Though my themes are philosophical/mystical and my genre is fantasy, I share your commitment to explore "possible solutions to the problems that we face in the world today." My WIP is based on marginalization of immigrants and indigenous nations in early-1900s America.Through the eyes of a disabled orphan, it explores intolerance and narrow-mindedness as a mirror of humanity's current state of separation from the Soul and Mother Earth.

I lost interest in screenwriting and gave up trying to become a screenwriter. I'm fine with just chatting on the site. I don't want to go back to work, translate a script, edit something, rewrite, promote projects.
