"After all, I'm doing what I love-and I'm doing what they said I couldn't."
Sam Sokolow

This may be the most inspiring thing I've read all year, Amanda Toney. Boatsman's commitment to his craft, problem solving skills and love of the game is kinetic and contagious. A must read going into 2025. Always be creating, everyone!!

Happy New Year, Amanda Toney! Great share! I remember way back I shot some scenes with friends on a cheap camcorder in my apartment. That (and the article) proves filmmakers don't need a lot of equipment to start. They can start with what they have.

Kerry Kennard

Seems like the young man had some guidance and street smarts where his career was going.

Happy new years, Amanda, Maurice and Sam

It's a big step to move from no- and shoestring-budget to a mature industry production. also access to equipment is today much easier than it was before. at his age of 23 we can say jacob boatsman still has a lot to learn. but than again I'd rather see filmmakers go to filmschool, do writing and drawing before they make their first feature film. I miss personal growth in this story, growth to the or a business we can all benefit from.
