I have been involved with Stage 32 for a number of years. I have been a screenplay reader, I've taught a couple of classes, written some blogs, and been an Animation Thought Leader. This site is filled with dynamic, creative, talented, supportive people who celebrate others' success as if it were their own. I worked in the animation industry for over 20 years at places like Disney, DreamWorks, Netflix, Universal, and Lightstorm Entertainment (the Avatar franchise). About a year ago, I left and moved to the East Coast for what was meant to be a 6-month sabbatical, but it has turned into a long-term arrangement. I am focussing on my own writing, and I completed my second YA novel (The Salem Witches Book II: Born Again), and both of my books are on Amazon. I am starting on the third book of the Salem Witches trilogy, which I hope to finish this summer. I'm also developing a limited series based on a real-life historical character.
My daughter and I started a podcast called GenXvZ: A Movie Podcast, where we talk about what's going on in the world of cinema. It's on Spotify, Apple Music, and wherever you get your podcasts. I'm also trying to expand my script coverage service. You can check it out at monumentscripts.com where I also blog about movies and some TV.
That's what I got going on. I'm looking forward to hearing from all you crazy kids and seeing how many fires y'all got burning.

Brian Smith Hi Brian, it’s great to hear from you. Here’s to you completing the third book. Where did the inspiration come from, for the story?

Geoff Hall that's a great question. Thanks for asking. I am the father of three daughters, and the story is essentially a parable of the relationship between my wife and my oldest daughter. Now, neither one of them is a witch, but they have a complex relationship. I've noticed over the years that the relationships between mothers and daughters tend to be the most complex relationships in the family dynamic, and the book explores that idea.
