I hate it when aspiring teenage filmmakers (like me) are told to "make a movie with your friends." Why?

Because I have no friends who are interesting in filmmaking or acting.

If they don't want to, I won't force them or blackmail them.

Hey, Imola Orbán. I think people are just suggesting you make a movie with the people who are around you. It doesn't have to be your friends. It could be family, local actors, local film students, etc.

Brian Dear

I think the implied task is to go make friends who are interested in making movies. Films are a team sport. Another thing: you become who you hang around. So try to surround yourself with people doing what you want to be doing.
