Introduce Yourself : Hi Stage 32 by Edwin Resto

Edwin Resto

Hi Stage 32

My name is Edwin Resto. I’m a Miami-based screenwriter, novelist, and founder of FTRON Productions.

It’s been a busy year..I just completed the third draft of my feature screenplay Fagatron Lives: Volume One , a sci-fi superhero story set at the intersection of fashion, identity, and cosmic mythology. The script is adapted from my novel of the same name, which has been submitted to Book Pipeline, and is currently being pitched as a franchise property.

Earlier this year, I placed as a quarterfinalist in the Emerging Screenwriters Horror Competition (Gratuitous) and the NextV Pitch Competition (City PD). My goal is to continue leveling up as both a storyteller and a creative entrepreneur.

I recently launched Screenwriter Magazine, a monthly digital zine that highlights bold original IPs and shares the screenwriting journey in real time. It’s not just about me , it’s a space to spotlight stories, celebrate creativity, and feature and inspire other writers along the way. The debut issue is coming soon.@screenwritermagazine on instagram

My current slate includes:

• Fagatron Lives — Sci-fi feature, novel, and musical

• Animated noir series and a prequel to my novel.

• Kill Fashion — Horror satire

• Hialeah Cats — Animated musical adventure

• Cell Block 13 — Thriller drama set in a futuristic prison

I’m here to connect with producers, reps, and creatives who love cinematic worldbuilding and original storytelling. Let’s build something unforgettable.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Edwin Resto. Congratulations on finishing the third draft of your screenplay and all your accomplishments! I hope you sell it! Congratulations on launching Screenwriter Magazine! I just followed Screenwriter Magazine on IG. Looking forward to the first issue!

Edwin Resto

Thank you so much!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Edwin Resto. What's Cell Block 13 about, unless you're keeping the plot under wraps?

B. E. Davis

Hi, Edwin Resto. Welcome to Stage 32, congratulations on your amazing accomplishments, and I can't wait to see more of your work.

Edwin Resto

Thanks for asking. Maurice .Here’s the logline:

When a blackout hits a state-of-the-art prison, the cells open and death walks free. An undercover cop and a group of inmates must survive the night, because something evil has escaped from Cell Block 13.

Horror thriller. Brutal. Fast-paced. A little twisted.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Edwin Resto. I'd definitely watch that! Do you want some feedback on your logline?

Edwin Resto

Yes Maurice Vaughan I’d love some feedback!

Maurice Vaughan

I think a one-sentence logline would work better, Edwin Resto. I also think "death walks free" and "something evil has escaped from Cell Block 13" are vague.

Something like: When a blackout hits a state-of-the-art prison, a ________ (the main flaw the protagonist has to overcome in the script or an adjective that describes their personality) undercover cop and a group of inmates fight to survive the night as a ___________ (describe the thing in a little more detail) that escaped from Cell Block 13 hunts them.

Edwin Resto

Maurice Vaughan

I appreciate the feedback.I’m intentionally keeping the logline a bit vague right now to preserve some key reveals, especially around what exactly escaped from Cell Block 13. That said, I’m definitely open to refining it once the project is further along in development.

Maurice Vaughan

Ok, gotcha, Edwin Resto. Can't wait to watch it!

Edwin Resto

Maurice Vaughan I really appreciate your interest and support. I’m deep into my first act, and the first ten pages are killer. Can’t wait to share more soon.
