Happy introduce yourself weekend everyone. I've been on this site since 2014 and I've made a lot of friends. I've been a moderato in the acting lounge now for two years. I used to host in person meetups in the Phoenix metro area. I've recently expanded my interests to include writing because you don't have to just act.
I'm curious to know what you're all disciplines are, what has brought you to Stage 32, and what is the best book you have read on show business?

nice to meet you. most of the books I’ve read have been on writing, but sooner or later I need to read up on acting since I’m doing that as well.

Hi, Suzanne Bronson. Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend! Congratulations on expanding your interests to include writing! I don't remember what brought me to Stage 32. The best book I've read on show business is probably CJ Walley's book "Turn & Burn: The Scriptwriter's Guide to Writing Better Screenplays Faster."

Suzanne Bronson, so glad to see your reintroduction here. You’ve been such a steady and inspiring presence in the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting), and I know so many members benefit from the insights and encouragement you share.
For me, Stage 32 has always been about building meaningful connections and helping others find their way through this industry.

Suzanne Bronson, nice reintroduction. It is always nice to see you on Stage 32. As for what form of discipline, I do not have any. I go all over the place with my mind. However, if you mean what type of work, I do scriptwriting and songwriting. Some of it is even good. Cheers from an American lost in Germany.

Hi Suzanne, thanks for sharing and for the work you do as a moderator, that’s awesome. I’m pretty new here and just launched my own management company, Hustle & Lakas Management. My focus right now is representing my first client, actress Erika Erica (SAG-AFTRA), and learning as much as I can about this side of the industry.
I haven’t read a show business book yet, but my favorite book right now is 10X by Grant Cardone, it really pushes me to think bigger and take massive action. Curious, what’s your top recommendation for someone new to the management side of the industry?

Hi Douglas Esper thank you for introducing yourself. I didn't necessarily mean books on acting, I meant on the entertainment industry in general. The business side of things. I know all about how to act, but that isn't enough. It is the entertainment BUSINESS after all. I don't know what I don't know. I listen to the podcast THE TOWN and that helps a lot, as well as RB is always dropping knowledge.

It is nice to virtually meet you Joseph Santarose Congratulations on launching your own management company. I can't speak to the management side of things as I have no experience in that, but I recommend asking your question in the Anything Goes lounge. I highly recommend listening to the podcast THE TOWN.
What do you write, Suzanne Bronson? Screenplays, teleplays, stage plays, etc.

I used to write poetry Maurice Vaughan Have written some short stories, all when I was a child. I did write a one act play in college. As an adult my writing has been for myself, journaling, automatic writing, I have done The Artist's Way twice. I decided to start that course again this week and after that I will do the follow up Vein of Gold which is specifically for writers. I also did a 3 Week course with a different prompt each day. So for right now, my writing is just a bunch of verbal vomit that may be one day can be turned into something. I know I have a story to tell, I just don't know yet how to tell it.

Yeah, a fictional podcast, Suzanne Bronson. I've been thinking about writing them, especially for my big-budget script ideas. I've also thought about turning some of my scripts into fictional podcasts.

Suzanne Bronson, I have read zero books or articles regarding songwriting. I have zero clue how a "real" songwriter is supposed to write. I know nothing about bridges, bars and all that other stuff. I am thiankful for my lack of knowledge. I most definitely do my own thing. :)

Thank you Suzanne, you are absolutely right, in this industry we have to broaden our fields, stay curious, and never stop learning.
For my part, I come from many worlds: I studied fashion design for three years, today I also work in my family’s small restaurant, but at the same time I compose music, repair old watches I find in flea markets, and sketch new ideas whenever inspiration calls. Jazz, cinema, and storytelling are at the center of my life.
I recently began sharing my film projects here on Stage 32. I’m developing a trilogy of films (A Journey Through the Heart of Time, Jumelles, The Ship Bearing the Sun) as well as other works like Ma, Where Is Your Head? and my short Too Late, I Love the Blue. Each of them mixes intimate emotion with larger symbolic or philosophical visions.
For me, creating is a need, I want to transmit feelings of love, anger, healing, and tenderness, and to give back some of the beauty and pain I’ve lived through. I joined Stage 32 to connect with other passionate creators, to exchange, and hopefully to find the right partners to bring these films to life.
And about your question on books: one of the most important things I “read” is not a book but life itself, the little moments of silence and memory that become cinematic in my mind. But I’m always curious to hear what inspires others.
