Hey, Stage 32 gang! I've just posted step-by-step instructions on writing both feature films and 60 minute pilot scripts on my YouTube! I'll be doing a 30 minute TV course, technique videos...
You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/@TennysonEStead
Between my own projects and my script doctor work, I've written more than 70 screenplays and I've been paid for better than half of them. If you ask me how many rounds of coverage I've written over the years, or how many screenplays I've read as a consultant, I wouldn't even know how to guess - has to be up over 1,000 - and you know as well as I do that the overwhelming majority of these were rejections.
What I'm putting on this YouTube channel is the stuff I wish writers knew. We're talking about the difference between a "consider" and a "recommend." We're talking about why so many scripts play differently at the table than they read on the page. None of this is luck, and none of it is magic. Instead, we're all just struggling against a handful of fundamentals that never get taught to writers because they come from acting theory, and scenework training.
