Congrats to all! Would love more granular data on this. What genres? What mediums? Where are the requests coming from (managers, producers, etc...)? How was the request achieved (virtual, written pitch or other)? I can't even get pitch feedback within 3-weeks let alone a read, so I'm really intrigued around how this is happening for so many.

Impressively long list for such a short timeframe (2 wks) - hope some of these proceed to the shooting stage

Jeffrey Wright I can tell you my pitch was for a social thriller/corporate horror and it was a virtual pitch. It's a feature and honestly- having worked out some of the production line aspects- I wrote it specifically to hit the sweetspot of production of around $18- $22 million to make- depending on actors, depth of VFX wanted (I kept it light deliberately), and most special effects are practical in nature.

Cynna Ael -- that's awesome and great to know. This is definitely what I'd love to see on a more aggregate scale here because it would really help writers. Yours is a thriller / horror feature with a budget around $20 million and you pitched virtually versus written. All of this is REALLY important to understanding what's working in these processes as this is definitely the business side of the industry that we should all be taking into account. Thank you for sharing. Appreciated.

Anytime, Jeffrey Wright. You're right. I know we hear how romcoms and horror is big right now. But it's what size horror and romcoms. Are they true romcoms or romdramedies? And the horror- what subgenre are they? I know it's not always easy to apply those kind of details and not everyone knows their budgeting for production for their writing (I'm still learning on how that works but I specifically wrote this idea for the lower/mid spectrum for the reason of ROI being good for possible sequel or two.), but it can make a difference in how we as writers write to market and write what we love. I lucked out- I did both.

Cynna Ael -- yeah, and that's the data geek in me coming out and wanting to better understand who is looking for what, what predominantly is being targeted and then obviously how best can writers position themselves to be successful. The site is great, and the opportunities are there, but I don't have a sugar momma (yet), so I need to maximize my dollars where they are and ensure that I'm limiting the waste that could be involved. Love to see others who have similar interests. Thanks again!
