Introduce Yourself : Still Standing by Wyman Brent

Wyman Brent

Still Standing

Hi everyone, I’m Wyman Brent.

My road here wasn’t a gentle one. I survived extreme child abuse and sexual abuse. I was robbed at gunpoint. Twice I saw people shot right in front of me. For years, I received death threats because of my work founding the Vilnius Jewish Public Library in Lithuania—work I remain proud of no matter the cost.

I live with an incurable lung disease. And yet… I’m still here. Still laughing. Still creating. Still finding joy.

This past April, something unexpected happened:

my creativity erupted in a way I never knew was possible.

Since then, I’ve written more than 450 songs, across genres that seem to make up their own rules. I’ve fleshed out film ideas, TV concepts, and even a full stage musical.

I also learned something about myself:

I’m on the extreme end of a creative synesthesia spectrum—my imagination doesn’t walk; it sprints, somersaults, and doesn’t stay in one lane for even a second. Combine that with ADHD hyperfocus, and suddenly the chaos became a gift instead of a burden.

I went through hell, but I didn’t stay there.

I kept going. And every day, I choose creativity, humor, and kindness.

If you’re a filmmaker, animator, musician, actor, or fellow creator who wants to connect, collaborate, or just talk about the wild places inspiration can take us, I’d love to meet you.

Here’s to stories that survive, evolve, and keep making noise—no matter what tried to silence them.

Roya Mohammadlou

Your words truly shook my heart.

What you’ve been through is deeply painful, yet you’ve kept going—and that’s extraordinary.

It takes immense strength to carry so much and still choose to move forward.

I admire your courage

Meriem Bouziani

I’m so sorry you’ve lived through such difficult experiences.

The fact that you keep going shows a mind that knows how to survive and keep creating.

I truly hope you reach every dream you’re fighting for.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Wyman Brent. Sorry you went through all that, but I'm glad you're still here, still laughing, still creating, and still finding joy! Your story, your drive, and how much you create are inspiring!

Alistair Wales

Hyrone Lilly

it's sad what you went through, and still is. I believe in the Living GOD in Spirit and Truth, so I pray for you. would love to work with you ( in the future, when I get established) with film, animation and music.

Elle Bolan

Hi Wyman. Sometimes taking a rough road ends badly. Sometimes you find your way to peace. And it's not because of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". It's because you were already stronger than the winds whipping around you.

Sometimes our noise is loud despite the storm. And you know what? I'm so dang glad you're still here and still smiling, and being loud.

Ashley Renee Smith

Hyrone Lilly, thank you so much. My life was rough, but I am still enjoying life. Send me a connect request if you want. Best wishes from Germany.

Roya Mohammadlou , I appreciate your kind words. I do not personally see what I did as requiring courage. I am just the type who is too stubborn to give up and quit.

Wyman Brent

Meriem Bouziani, thank you so much. I do appreciate it. I also hope you reach all of your dreams.

Wyman Brent

Alistair Wales, thanks a lot. Send me a connecct request if you like. Cheers from Germany.

Elle Bolan, thanks so very much. I have been on many rough roads. I think I need to buy a good GPS system. I am also glad that you are here. Uhmm, where are we?
