I've written this synopsis so…

I've written this synopsis so many times, but have finally nailed it: Mila's Stories Mila grows up under strict Communist rule in Prague, a painter whose art echoes into events in real life. She flees her tyrannical father to find an underground motley crew of artists, led by handsome Mark. Mark gives up his artistry to support Mila, who grows stronger, as do the effects of her paintings, such as colourful canvasses resulting in fireworks being released on an otherwise banned public holiday or her painting of a couple kissing in a street party resulting in her and Mark falling in love. The Dictator cruelly tries to stamp out the Resistance and captures most of the artists including Mark. Vaclav, an artist who was not captured, realises Mila's magical effects and, doubting his own, gets her to agree to write a play with him which frees Prague. But when Mila goes home to help her mother, who her father has made ill, he has her put in a psych ward and drugged. Vaclav has to finish the play himself and have it performed by a group of children. Mark escapes and confronts Mila's father, causing him to have an accident and, on his death bed, sign a release for Mila. With Vaclav's play confronting the lies of the Leader being performed in Prague's Central Square and Mila safe in England making artworks of a free City, Prague becomes a Capital of Culture, with the artists dreams become reality.
