Hello everyone,
My name is Douglas Parker, and I’m an emerging screenwriter focused on high concept, character driven stories across horror, thriller, action, and sci-fi.
I’ve been developing original feature scripts with a strong focus on cinematic concepts, tension, and emotionally grounded characters. I’m always working to sharpen my craft, grow within the industry, and connect with other creatives who are serious about storytelling.
Looking forward to networking, learning, collaborating, and supporting fellow writers and filmmakers here on Stage 32.
Wishing everyone success on their creative journey.

Pat Alexander great to meet you too — appreciate you reaching out. Right now I’m developing a few feature projects I’m really excited about. One is a contained action-horror thriller called Project Cerberus about two estranged brothers trapped inside a veterans facility hiding a human experimentation program. Another is a fantasy action concept called War of Divine Sons centered around gods, forbidden love, and a war between brothers. Staying busy and focused on building strong commercial stories with real emotional stakes.

Hi Douglas Parker, welcome to Stage 32! I’m Ashley, Head of Community here on the platform. It’s great to meet you, and I love the lane you’re working in, high-concept genre stories grounded in character are always in demand when they’re executed well.
It looks like Leonardo and Laura have already shared some fantastic suggestions, and I definitely want to echo those. The Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting) is a great place to stay active, share your work, and connect with other writers in horror, thriller, action, and sci-fi. And the Writer’s Room is an excellent space to take things even deeper with industry access, feedback, and development opportunities.
I’d also recommend reaching out to our Success Team at Success@Stage32.com. If you share more about your projects and your goals, they can help guide you toward curated resources and connections that align with where you want to go next.
You mentioned focusing on high-concept ideas with emotional grounding. What’s one concept you’re currently developing that best represents your voice right now?

Ashley Renée Smith! Hi Ashley, thank you for the warm welcome and thoughtful message. I really appreciate you taking the time to reach out.
What best represents my voice right now is a screenplay I’m developing called War of Divine Son. It’s a high-concept sci-fi/action epic centered on identity, sacrifice, destiny, and the emotional weight of power. At its core, it’s about a man caught between extraordinary responsibility and the life he truly wants, while facing forces much bigger than himself.
What drives me as a writer is combining cinematic scale, tension, and spectacle with grounded human emotion and character choices. I want audiences to feel the action, but also connect deeply with the people inside it.
I’m excited to keep building within the Stage 32 community, connecting with other creatives, and continuing to sharpen my craft. Thanks again for the encouragement.
