Any established film producer & directors in stage32? Director's representation/agent? I'm a filmmaker (mostly music videos & narrative) starting using this site and I'll appreciate some feedback from people that have been using it already. I'll like to increase my network, but with some value, I don't like the idea of this becoming some kind of myspace (where you wanted to get the higher number of friends) for aspiring filmmakers/talents/etc...

Hey Ivan - good point. I've just joined up to Stage 32 and keen to meet film makers who want to discuss projects and support the independent film industry. I'm producing a feature documentary in Australia. What I like about documentary is that it challenges me greatly - deciding how to structure a narrative about life as life happens - and do it artistically. Its a crazy ride!
Olivia, I'm also producing & directing my first feature documentary titled "Trovadores", it's an urban experimental work around music and artists motivation, you can check it on my projects or here http://trovadoresfilm.com/. I'm with you: it's a challenge. On documentaries you don't rule the action, you just follow what's happening in front of you. It's so different from fiction & set work! But it's so refreshing :)
Yeah you follow the action, but you also have to have foresight as to what is going to happen so you can cover the action properly. With mine, heaps of "support" characters keep popping up and i need to work out how far down a tangent path I go .. Its exciting! What are you shooting on? How many cameras do you use for coverage??
Yes, you have to know what to expect from the shooting, so you can plan how to cover it properly. I've shoot it on 5D & T2i/550D. Usually it was just me with a dslr and a shoulder mount rig, but for more complex parts we used up to 4-5 cameras to cover the action (live music & concerts).
