Hello, I am new to stage 32 and I am vision impaired disabled veteran. I wrote a short screenplay and I posted it in the my project section. I hope this is OK. How can I get others to read and comment on my screenplay? I don't want to do anything against forum rules. Thank you. Jeff

Hi Jeff! I saw you pasted the entire script into your "Projects" section. While I'm not saying that's incorrect, many on Stage 32 might find it easier to read were it in script/doc form. You can also post/add it to your "Loglines/Screenplays" section of your profile, that way, interested parties can learn more about it or request to read it.
Thanks, I appreciate the help.

Hi Jeff, you're a vet and a disabled one at that. I thank you for your service and I empathize with your disability. I want to help. Your script is not formatted correctly which can turn people off. The subject matter, foul language and the story are pure and genuine. You're asking for help with script consulting- I do that. I've got a little on my plate right now but if you can give me about two weeks I can help you with your formatting and offer a few pointers. You have a noble project. You also have friends- other vets. Once we get through the formatting process, can you arrange for a table read. It's where you get a group of people together to read the script. They take on one or sometimes a couple of roles. They do not need to be professional actors. Hearing your screenplay read out loud by others provides insight. The 'readers/actors', provide their thoughts and as a spectator, you'll be surprised by what you notice may need improvements. Anyway, if you have a little window of time I'd like to help. randy.brown@sympatico.ca is my personal email. Let me know if you're interested

Thanks Randy, (Randy is the name of my pet wolf/dog) I can't afford to pay for professional advise. My brother has Final Draft and said he could help me with the formatting. It will be a while, if ever, before I submit it anywhere. Mostly I would appreciate any general comments, etc... Character development, should I change or add more to the ending, I thought about expanding it to a series with a different vet's story on each episode. I am really just writing for therapeutic reasons. I remember when on active duty in the late 70's we used to all cuss a lot and call each other by our last names. Since it was peace time there was a lot of inter-service rivalries. Thanks for your help. This Stage 32 is a helpful resource.

Hi Jeff, any orall of my help on this project will be in good faith. I'll read your script over again and send you my thoughts. You say that you may not ever submit it anywhere. That's fine but for therapeutic reasons, do think about getting a group together for a table read. It will bring your words to life if only for that one time. Cheers!

People have helped me along the way. I like to pay it forward when I can. After all, Stage 32 is a forum to help others as well as help ourselves. And how cool is it that his wolf/dog pictured shares my name, lol
