Anything Goes : Anyone Else? by Amber Dannehl

Anyone else have that one actor/actress or artist that they love their work but when they look at it, whether it's watching their movies or looking at their work you feel both inspired by their stuff but also like your own work is no good in comparison? For me one of those artists that makes me feel at once inspired but also like my own work is no good is Viggo Mortensen. I watch his acting, I've read snippets of his poetry and seen some of his photography and paintings, seeing how talented he is and how effortless he makes it seem makes me feel bad when i sit down to try to write and nothing comes, or if i try to act something out and it doesn't seem right, or if my paintings or photos don't look like I hope they would. Then again maybe that's the difference between a 55 year old multi-talented artist and a 20 year old Culinary Arts student who did 4 years of speech classes, writes and paints mostly to blow off steam and try to organize my thoughts, and only seldom takes photos.
