I'll be in Los Angeles on June 6, 7, 8th for a conference. I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay and was curious if anyone had any suggestions. Many thanks. TB
You should base your accommodations around the bulk of your meetings/social events...LA is a big place and some what stressful for a person...like by stressful I mean yesterday one freeway went down for more than 5 hours...5 hours of no movement what-so-ever. If you generalize your agenda by locations (West Side, Valley. OC or by studios) I will make stay & route suggestions.
Motel 6's are all over and relatively inexpensive. I tend to be a Super 8 Motel guy when on a tight budget. "Los Angeles" is a big place. Narrow down where in Los Angeles and we can help.
The Vibe Hotel on Hollywood Blvd. it is two blocks from Hollywood and Vine so you can grab a metro train if you want our go check out the strip. It is like 89 a night for a private room with a kitchen and there is a trader joes two blocks away. It is a hostel/hotel and there are social events every night with free food and drinks as well. Great people and a very social place that is cheap and close to a lot.

If you like the beach The Jolly Roger is decent and cheap. It's also close to the Marina Freeway, and Lincoln Blvd,
