Is it true that most managers and agents don't even bother with submissions? They must get hundreds a month, if not daily. I'm told it's more or less a waste of time to submit yourself, you'll only get in if you know someone.

I so hope this isn't true! But I'm finding it very difficult to get a mainstream agent instead of an 'extra' or background artist agent. I think like most things it's not what you know but who you know!
