Great! As I mentioned before, I'm totally new to Vancouver, so maybe somebody could suggest a central venue? As a date, I'd suggest a Friday evening, how about Sept. 12?
Contact Paul Armstrong. He's the Producer of the CSC.
Let's shoot for the end of September and see how many will attend and then hold our first Stage 32 gathering. Thanks for doing this?
Friday, September 12th, or the end of September is fine with me. I just can't do it on weekends as I am shooting movies. Maybe we could meet at a coffee shop - there's a million Starbucks, Bean Brothers, etc. here. I live in Kerrisdale (41st Avenue and West Boulevard) but I have a car so I can go anywhere where it's most convenient for everybody. Thanks!
OK, I will make a list and send everybody who commented a message with some dates & venues for the end ob September. this way More people have the Chance to attend. Thanks everyone for the patience and interest!

Hi Marty - as soon as you pick the date/place/venue I can send an email to everyone in the area with the details :)
Thanks, will do!
Hey, Marty, Julie. Count me in!
Sounds good! I'll be there!

Sorry for the wait, folks! We are now about 15 people, so I think we can pick a place & date. I suggest Friday, Sept 19 at the Starbucks on Granville & W Georgia, right across from the City Centre train station, at 7pm. It's very central so I think everybody can get there. Also, there's lots of other coffee shops & bars in the area if we are too big of a group.
OK 4 Sept 19 but earlier is better, if possible 5PM? Same place; Starbucks across fr City Centre Canada Line stn.
Possible alternative loc - WAVES coff shp Howe & Smythe has seperate meeting room for larger groups.
Thanks again for initiating Marty. I like John's idea about changing the venue as that starbucks is quite small and geared towards takeout. As far as the time 7 is fine for me and I also see the merits of 5 pm. Anyone else going to chime in?
Yes, thanks for initiating this group, Marty. Friday, September 19th, is fine with me. Whatever time and location you choose is fine with me, too.
Sept. 19 at the WAVES at 5 pm is fine for me (though traffic's a little crazy around then).
Thanks Marty. I'm in.
So it seems 5pm at the Waves Coffee Shop on Howe & Smythe is more convenient for most people. I say let's meet there and everyone who can't make it at that early just comes in later. I will be there 5pm sharp! See you Sept 19!

Hi All. Great you took the initiative Marty. I'll do my utmost best to be there. Salvatore Vetro
Not sure if rsvp is done through commenting on this post lol but I can definitely make it out :)
WAves isn't very big. Do you know how many people are going to be there? I was just thinking there are numerous pubs on Granville and some of them have separate areas for groups. Just a thought. :)
I'll be there.
I've heard from Marty that there is another room we can gather in. If not, we can always go somewhere else.
I hope to make it. Always great to meet more industry people.
I'm in!
I'll be there.
Count me in. I finish work at 5.
Well have a great time, I don't arrive in Vancouver till the seventh of Oct, for three weeks then back to Aust.
What an idiot. I thought it was today. Having said that, when I went to Waves it was full of ESL Chinese mostly students and they said they always gather from 5-7:00pm. Marty, you may want to revisit the location. As a suggestion, White Spot on Georgia and Cardero St has a room there we can use as long as we have something to eat. You may have to reserve it though.
Salvatore, I think it's too late for that, as the invitation has already gone out. Let's just meet there, we can always change venues.
If Waves ends up being too busy, I would recommend the Bottleneck, it's about 1 or 2 blocks from Waves, a cool hidden gem of a bar. Classy and rarely that busy.
Bottleneck sounds good. Let me know. Thanks, Mike
Marty, I think it's ok if we change it now because we're all reading these suggestions on this site. I'm just worried that if we change the location on the day, the people who arrive late might not know where we are as we don't have each other's phone numbers to call them to let them know where the changed location is.
Hey Guys, I'm settled on Bottleneck. What's the address?
The Bottleneck is located at: 870 Granville Street.
Its right next to the Commodore Ballroom, they don't really have a meeting room or anything but I can see about reserving a big table to accommodate the first bunch of people that come in.
Hey Christopher. Great idea. Let's do it.
I have to say I'm appalled at the lack of respect shown to Marty! You might remember him - the guy that started this meet-up! While I applaud people taking the initiative, it's not cool to disregard the person who started the meet-up and take over. As far as I'm concerned, the meet-up that Marty started is at Waves until further notice from Marty. So what if they'll be other groups there - the idea is to meet people. expand our professional networks and hopefully make a new friend of two. See you at Waves!
I agree, Chris. And if we do need to move it to the Bottleneck or wherever after we're there, we can leave a note at the counter for latecomers.
Justto clear this up: I want to stick with the venue sent out via Stage32 because there might be people who want to attend but don't follow this conversation. I appreciate everyone's input, but changing the venue several times is just too confusing. And I obviously need to change my headshot bec I'm mistaken for a guy :)

Hi Everyone! Sorry I've not been in this discussion till now. I've just not known if I'll be available Friday night owing to unknowns with my onions-in-the-air work schedule. At present it looks like I won't be free that evening, but if it clears up, I'll go to Wave's. I definitely won't be available at 5:00. If free, it won't be till at least 8:00. Thank you for your initiation Marty and for everyone else's contributions. Marty, it was probably your name as much as your headshot.:) Would be fun to meet you, and the others, at any rate.
This is the beginning of better things to come at future gatherings. I agree and thank you Marty for taking the initiative to bring forth the inaugural Stage 32 Vancouver Meet Up to fruition. I'm in a Scene Study workshop this weekend with Jeb Beach and plan to inform my fellow creatives of the meet up happening this coming Friday. Don't know about anyone else, but I'm quite excited about it. See you all on Friday.
I wish I could make it, only in Vancouver a month every year, I will be their most of Oct hope to bump into some of you. Also how can you eat those greasy fish and chips at Granville Markets, no wonder your sea gulls are obese.

I'm sure it will be a success. I followed numerous screenwriting groups over the past 25 years, but this group has legs. Now go out and break one. Can't be there. All the best.
