Daniel Cox is a comedy writer from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Daniel writes funny stories about larger than life characters with big personalities and big problems. His philosophy for comedy comes from his love of music. When he writes something, he wants it to be fun to hear, fun to say, and fun to hear again! After all, he is also a lyricist. Daniel is getting his MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Georgia. He has taken comedy writing classes from The Second City and musical theatre writing lessons at This MT Space from an award winning composer, lyricist, and librettist team. Daniel’s scripts have placed in the Austin Film Festival, ScreenCraft, and the Fade In Comedy Awards. Right now, Daniel is a story producer for a comedy show with over 950K followers on TikTok alone. He’s interned at Volition Entertainment where he learned all about the development process and did script coverage. He is currently enrolled in the Roadmap Writers Career Writing Program where he has been networking with and pitching to agents, managers, producers, and film and TV executives as he learns to find his way in the industry. In college, Daniel did Forensics, Quiz Bowl, and even played NCAA Division II Tennis, but his biggest passions are comedy and musical theatre. Daniel is a goofy song and dance man that ALWAYS keeps his tap dancing shoes in the car... ready for the stage! His latest role was Larry the Lobster in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical. He will be teaching theatre this summer in NYC with the NSLC at Columbia University.
