Tudor Petre is an award-winning sound designer born in Romania. After having graduated from the Multimedia Department of Editing & Sound and from an MA in Film Editing at the National University Of Drama and Cinematography, he pursued his specialized education in UK, following a second MA at the National Film And Television School (NFTS) on Sound Design for Film.
His recent prizes include Best Sound for “Somewhere in Palilula” (2012, Silviu Purcarete) at Gopo Awards 2013 and The Romanian Filmmaker Union Awards 2013. He is credited for many other film projects (feature films, short films and documentaries) such as: “Miss Christina” (2013, Alexandru Maftei), “As you like it” (2013, Paula Onet), “Japanese Quince Tree” (2011, Mara Trifu), “Hello, My Name is Olga” (2011, Tatiana Korol), “Phantom Rhapsody” (2011, Sarah Pucill), “Letter to Dad” (2010, Srdjan Keca), “Don’t get me wrong” (2007, Adina Pintilie), “Oxygen” (2007, Adina Pintilie). Over time, his projects were screened at important film festivals such as CANNES, IDFA, Locarno and Dok Leipzig.
