About Marguerite

I am a former school superintendent turned screenwriter, telling the stories of unsung heroes, fictional and historical.

I began my work life as a musician, and this led me naturally both to making video and to teaching. My first jazz teacher told me always to be playing, studying and teaching to enrich and deepen my art. This advice has stood me in good stead for all my creative endeavors.

My time in Gay Liberation politics gave me a wonderful exposure to the well-known and unsung heroes of the many civil rights movements that have increased human rights for so many in this country. Their stories need to be told, especially since a new generation must now rise up to defend them.

My work as a female bass player introduced me to many amazing artists whose gender or gender orientation has kept them in obscurity. Their stories need to be told.

My work with hundreds of heroic educators at all levels is a constant and ongoing inspiration.

I have made a number of documentary videos, written extensively, and in the last 5 years turned my attention to writing screenplays that will inspire people to take action to save a suffering world. Anyone can be a hero, We all gain whenever someone tries to be.

Unique traits: Tenacity, the ability to get things done, the skill of making a group of people into an inspired team, the sum of which is greater than the individual parts.
