About Christopher
I am Christopher Manydeeds. I am an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. I am a polymath of science, health, education and law. I am a writer. I participated in the June 2022 Stowe Story Labs as a Stowe Diverse Voices Fellow. I completed Stowe Story Labs Writer’s Room 2022, Writer’s Room 2022, Stowe Intensive Remote Writers’ Retreat 2023, and Stowe Feature Campus 2023, and Stowe Intensive Remote Writers’ Retreat 2024. I completed these courses at the Sundance Collab: Screenwriting Core Elements, Screenwriting Writing Your First Act, Screenwriting Writing Your Second Act, Screenwriting Writing Your Third Act, Screenwriting Revising Your Feature, and Screenwriting Crafting Your Sci-Fi Feature.
While writing is an alternative career path for me, I worked in Public Service all of my life. I am a Program Analyst with the Indian Health Service Office of Tribal Self-Governance, where I work with Tribes that take over their own health care from the IHS. I am a subject-matter expert in Title V Tribal Self-Governance Compacting for Tribes. Working in partnership with Tribes in Tribal Self-Governance is a positive experience for the last eighteen years. I was a Deputy Superintendent with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. I was the Supervising Prosecutor for the Fort Peck Tribe and the Red Lake Tribe. I was a Legal Aid Program Director. I clerked for a judge. I was an American Indian college recruiter. My experiences with Tribes have given me many story ideas and a powerful idea of the sovereignty of Tribal Nations.
My career as a writer is at an exciting stage. I hope to have a very long career, perhaps 30 years or more.
