I'm passionate about storytelling, I have been since I was in primary school where I actually wrote a play. I believed I wanted to be an Actor for so long that I had a blinkered view and never considered myself as the creative type. This all fell flat on its face, I joined the army at 16, but story telling always spoke to me and whilst I was deployed in Afghanistan I began writing my first script(that wasn't a childs play), I had no idea how to structure it but the story was great, and in typical fashion when I came back, my laptop got a virus and I lost everything. At this point to me it was just a hobby, there was no way I could make a career out of this, all the signs were telling me no. I left the army, with the hopes of becoming a teacher, again in my head Screenwriters just existed inna secret society and not something an everyman like could go into. I completed my diploma for access to higher education in education and was offered all Universities I applied for. I began at Edgehill University. Unfortunately, financially it became impossible for me to stay in university due to unforseen circumstances. I got a decent job but no matter what I did, I could not scratch this creative itch, I would plan full episodes of TV, film Ideas, Stand Up routines in my head on the drive to work and I thought I have to do something, so I finally wrote my First Script (again that wasnt wrotten by 10 year old me) last year and after much self doubt, I submitted it to BBC writers room. It may not be a masterpiece format wise but i believe the story is excellent. So here I am, hoping to learn from some of the greats to fine tune my skills and hope I can share with the world some of my great stories.
