Hi, I'm Dean. I've spent most of my life working for local television stations making documentaries, then I transitioned to sports production. I was a DP for Fox Sports Ohio, Cleveland Browns and my own company Cleveland Convergence. I won nine regional Emmys for Editing, Photography and Producing. I was the producer, writer, and editor for the Fox Sports Regional Network's 18 Holes with Jimmy Hanlin.
After turning 40, I decided to get a PhD in Journalism. I moved overseas and graduated from Sheffield University (UK) in 2013. In 2015, I started teaching and now I am a tenured Associate Professor at Georgia Southern University. I teach Introduction to Media Writing, Television Pilot and a variety of production courses.
I love to write and I've been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and have the scars. All of those world experiences, the ups and downs, go into my writing.
My goal is to join the WGA. I want to take that step and write full-time.
