LaRaisha Dionne, a nomadic Air Force brat born in West Germany, is happy to have
made Detroit her current home base during her graduate studies in Performance at Wayne
State University. With an affinity for chameleon-like transformation as a multi-hyphenate artist;
her work spans Theatre, TV/Film, Voiceover, Music, Dance as both creator and performer. She
will receive her Masters of Fine Arts from Wayne State University in May 2023 and previously,
received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
When not writing, she has performed in several professional theatrical performances,
including a double-award winning turn as the Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill
in Wilmington, NC. Recent credits include Maureen in RENT, Beverly in Fairview (Pulitzer Prize
Winner 2019), Everybody in Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Pulitzer Prize Nominee
2018), Olivia in Twelfth Night (Wayne State), Herself in Unveiling the Mask (Wayne State), The
Proprietor in Assassins, Whatsername in American Idiot, Cathy in The Last 5 Years, Fastrada in
Pippin, and Pennywise in Urinetown. She believes in the power of storytelling to heal trauma
and connect deeper to our humanity.
