Great read thanks for sharing. Well done on what you have achieved. I live in little old England, not far away from Falmouth as it happens, went to watch WWZ last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a film maker myself and in the last two years have started writing and making short films, and ultimately trying to achieve my goal of working in the film industry, but as an un-qualified person I am finding it very difficult to find a way in, especially in the sheltered part of the country I live in. Any advice you could give would be much appreciated, Thanks. Tim

Regarding the film studio/film production 'intern' issue.....my opinion it's taking advantage, and should stop! Studios should pay a fair days pay for a fair days work.....just my opinion:)

Congratulations! On all of it--your part in the production, meeting your mate, and the birth of a son. What a wonderful story. It is an inspiration to me as I begin--FINALLY--the pursuit of my life-long passion for acting at 58 years old. Thanks so much for taking the time to share the insight Dave. As an emerging filmmaker/director, I soak this stuff up like a sponge. I'm constantly seeking out the "behind the scenes" on DVDs and gravitating towards literature, videos, posts and jumping in on others projects etc. During the shoot of The Lost Souls, we were filming in Scott Hicks back yard (so to speak). We went to the newsagent down the road to copy more continuity sheets only to find out that we'd just missed him! Working on a film IS very hard work at times but such an amazing experience. Days can turn into nights and into days, crew and actors buzzing about all over the place, logistics of location changes and it goes on. Primal Wound, my first feature, is about to take off and it's very exciting. If you happen to have some spare time I'd value some tips which you think to be golden nuggets in film creation. Great job with WWZ Dave and very best wishes for your career ahead.

I am always amazed about how large scale productions like this one become like village communities. And the fact , whether you are a major "A" list actor or an extra, you pretty much get on with each and doing the work within a time schedule. This is an excellent example of professional and courteous behaviour from Brad Piit, who has not let celebrity get to his head.
