Christie Cook is a comedy writer and sketch performer from Sydney, Australia with a keen desire to satirize institutional stuffiness and humankind’s obsession with itself, in, of course, the nicest way possible. Her comedic stylings have been accurately described as edgy but sweet.
Ever since she was born, Christie has been an unassuming provocateur and getting into a lot of trouble for it, mostly within the institutions she now incorporates into her writing.
Her former life was as a high school teacher. During this time, she read and graded an infinite number of essays that have since become the stuff of recurring nightmares.
Now living in Mexico with her husband and young son, she acts and writes for a local sketch comedy group —The Once Upon a Time in Mexico Players. Her other interests include drinking mojitos, mocking reality television and speaking Spanish, which she does poorly.
