Canaan Kennedy is a dynamic writer and storyteller whose work ranges, from feature film scripts and television pilots to insightful journalism and powerful literary works. With his unique perspective shaped by extensive world travels across Europe, Africa, and the Far East, Kennedy strives to make a significant impact in various creative fields.
At just 17, Kennedy made a striking literary debut with "Struggles to Victory Over Racism in America," a deeply personal exploration of his family's battle against racism. This work garnered high praise from esteemed academics like Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Natalie Portman, he was noted for its remarkable insight and maturity, especially coming from a young writer.
Kennedy's academic background is as diverse as his professional endeavors. He majored in African-American Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, furthering his studies abroad at the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Milan and The American University in Cairo. His passion for creative writing led him to enroll in screenwriting courses at NYU in 2020, where he honed his skills and produced a variety of scripts.
In 2022, Kennedy expanded his creative portfolio while residing in Southeast Asia, completing another feature film script. His diverse experiences culminated in his acceptance into a Master's Program in Milan, Italy, where he graduated with a degree in Screenwriting and Production, boasting an impressive collection of eight scripts.
Kennedy's talents extend beyond writing; he has conducted engaging interviews with a wide range of personalities, from biographers and Super Bowl Champions to British Aristocrats. His work has been featured in Study Magazine, Konch, and Cinemulatto, offering thought-provoking perspectives on race relations. Notably, one of his interviews was credited in the Broadway Production “Ohio State Murders” and published by the Dramatist Guild of America.
