Attracted by unconventional yet hyperrealistic universes, Juliette Joy began her artistic studies at Cours Florent French acting school, and in front of the camera, playing Gwen in the mini-series "Twice Upon a Time" directed by Guillaume Nicloux broadcasted on Arte and Netflix.
After moving to London to pursue her film studies and exploring different roles, mainly as art director/art assistant on various productions like commercials, short films, music videos, series and features - she now focuses on writing and directing.
By directing “Fatima’s not fucking retraining”, “Let Me Ride”, “Prodosia” and "Saving Grace" (currently in post-production) Juliette Joy imprints her artistic fiber on screen and tackles sensitive subjects that shake up our souls.
After experimenting with loud visuals, she decided to concentrate on showing the extraordinary depth of simple things, and the easily missed simplicity of convoluted situations. “The things you look at change when you change the way you look at things”.
Let Me Ride’s international selections, (including the Oscar-nominating Austin Film Festival) are great encouragements to keep sublimating the hardships of life into universal messages of strength, courage, and hope.
