Karin Hallen

I'm a screenwriter and filmmaker originally from Sweden. I now split my time between Los Angeles and Europe and love being able to draw inspiration and energy from both continents. I am looking to connect with collaborators and producers as well as a manager in L.A.

I wrote my first screenplay in 2015. This script got me hired to write a feature film for a Swedish production company and I have been a working writer and script consultant since then.

In 2017 and 2018 I was one of only 12 Scandinavian screenwriters to be selected to pitch in Germany and Poland to international producers and I was the only writer to be chosen for this twice.
In 2019 I was hired to write all episodes of S2 for the YA sci-fi series “Spegelvänd” for Swedish network TV.

I gradually realized that I wanted to do more than write and decided to explore directing which I immediately knew was right for me. I started small by making two shorts with my phone, which led to work doing corporate and product videos. I then expanded into music videos.
I'm currently in post-production on my 4th short film.
