I am a sound/music composer for moving image as well as a performing musician/noise maker. Additionally, I record and produce music and have taught music technology to a broad range of students up to degree level since 1999.
I have been a core member of the post-punk collective 'Normil Hawaiians' since 1981 and together we have produced three albums with a focus on experimenting with sound and eschewing traditional approaches to 'music' creation. We are in the process of completing a new body of material which draws on themes of journey, both metaphysical and geographical.
Unique traits: I have a particular interest in exploring alternative approaches to sound/music creation. I believe that composition is simply a process of discovery and that the most interesting music comes either from searching deeper and further or from foraging with an unorthodox technique. I like to use found sounds as compositional sources in a variety of ways, especially when these are linked to specific spaces.
