About Will

Will McCord is a graduate of Columbia’s MFA program in screenwriting and directing and been making films for over a decade. He’s made numerous short films, music videos and a feature film that have screened at festivals internationally including New Directors/New Films (presented by MoMA and Lincoln Center), Miami, at Anthology Film Archives, and from Chicago to Austin and Milan. They have aired on New York’s PBS station, been written up favorably in the New York Times, Indiewire and the Daily News, and received DVD distribution with Film Movement.

He has a script optioned by writer/director/producer George LaVoo (Emmy-nominated A DOG YEAR, Sundance award-winning REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES) and was chosen as 1 of 25 filmmakers to participate in the new IFP/ Film Society of Lincoln Center program Emerging Visions, held during the New York Film Festival. CASUAL ENCOUNTERS is his first feature and is the recent winner of the jury award for Best Feature at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival. It is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, VHX and FilmBox Arthouse.

His recent script, THE CONDUCTOR, was a Sundance Writers Lab finalist and was selected for BVEW’s Screenwriting Career Lab. He’s currently working on a mystery/suspense film entitled ROOM FOR DOUBT which has a few notable actors attached.

He’s also written, directed and edited branded content and promotional spots that have received production grants and awards at international contests. Brands include American Express, Lenovo, Plated, HelloFresh, Sears, Smirnoff, Durex, Friskies, Gillette, AT&T, Edible magazine, the MTA and Purina. Five have received awards and one had over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
